Mark,Bill will chew your tailfeathers off if he hears about using a patch on the ball!

Lol...actually, the first thing I thought about patches was lots of wiping and a hammer. However an accuracy comparison would be interesting.

Ten at 75 yards in ten minutes ~ that one leaves the patched ball men struggling, especially on hot dry days. Now your man with the wads system will be laughing at them as they struggle to catch up in...

Re: Untouched EIC Type F cleanup under way.

penske, There is nothing I can make out behind the TG or in the rod channel. There was some rust build up near the entry hole. If there was a name there its no longer visible. Where would the Lion...

Lay the musket with the lock up and look at the butt. It is marked toward the rear center of the butt. It may look like just a dent in the stock if it is not cleaned up. Use a magnifier to check but...

Guys, The lion stamping in the wood was first brought to my attention a couple of years ago by a legendary member called 'Claven'. I had never noticed it because I thought it was a bump or bruise in...

Yes. The lion...I was thinking in the wrong orientation and not expecting it to be struck so deep. The assembly marks are visible. I will hunt for more. Thanks!

Re: Untouched EIC Type F cleanup under way.

I think that is the more usual orientation. And it is very nicely struck.

Yes Johnny it is. The picture doesn't quite show the detail remaining. The close up in the sunlight is also showing lots of spots of "dungeon gunk" left but I was getting into the overall "patina" as...

Re: Untouched EIC Type F cleanup under way.

Hi Bill. No I haven't. The farm property I used to shoot on has changed hands. I'm going to have to rejoin the local range/club, I guess. "Civilization" has encroached on all my old shooting spots.

Mark, sorry to hear this. Finding a proper place to shoot gets a bit more complicated or expensive all the time, it seems.
